Vietnam wants to learn Egypt’s experience in organising, designing and exhibiting artifacts as a foundation for the later display in the basement of the new National Assembly building.
Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Science, made the wish during his working session with Egyptian Minister of Antiquities Mohammed Ibrahim Ali in Cairo on April 7.
He stressed the importance of the display in the basement of the new NA building as part of the overall project covering the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, which was recognised by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a world cultural heritage.
Thang said he admires the preservation and promotion of the values of thousand-year-old heritages in Egypt and hopes that the two sides will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in this field.
For his part, the Egyptian Minister expressed hope for international cooperation in promoting Egyptian heritages to the world, saying that his country is willing to share preservation and museum experience with Vietnam.
During the April 2-7 visit, the Vietnamese delegation visited outdoor archaeological relic sites and museums in Aswan, Luxor and Cairo.-VNA
