VN, Paraguay expand trade, investment promotion

VietnameseAmbassador to Argentina and Paraguay Nguyen Van Dao introduced majorcharacteristics of Vietnam ’s socio-economy as well as its trade andinvestment policies.

He also stressed the developments in trade cooperation between Vietnam and Paraguay and the Latin American countries.

The ambassador also took the occasion to invite Paraguay enterprisesto attend the ministerial meeting on trade and investment with LatinAmerica , to boost cooperation potential in that area.

Paraguayanbusinesses expressed a desire to cooperate with Vietnam . Some ofthem said they will attend the Vietnam-Latin America Trade andInvestment Forum in Hanoi in
early July.

According toParaguayan customs, two-way trade between Paraguay and Vietnam hassurged in recent years, reaching a record high of 51 million USD in2011, of which Vietnam exported 13.7 million USD.

Vietnam exports sport shoes, electric fans, motorcycle spare parts,water pumping machinery and garments to Paraguay and imports soybeanpowder and oil, beef, wheat, maize, leather, wood and cotton from theLatin American country.-VNA
