Vietnam and Romania have agreed to continue prioritising educational cooperation in the future.

This was signalled at a meeting between Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem and Chairman of the Romanian House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Relations Korodi Attila on April 14 in Hanoi .

Deputy PM Khiem appraised Romania for its high training quality, saying many high-ranking leaders in Vietnam ’s petrol and construction sectors had studied in the country.

He expressed his delight at the fine development of the two countries’ cooperative relations, especially in education, technology transfer and chemicals.

The Deputy PM said he hoped that the visit would contribute to boosting cooperative relations between the two nations’ legislative bodies and States as well as their bilateral relations.

For his part, Korodi Attila highlighted that the 61-year diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Romania have created a bedrock for the two parliaments, States and people to strengthen their fruitful relations.

Romania attaches importance to the ongoing visit and the delegation includes members who have experience in external activities and have actively contributed to bolstering bilateral ties, he said, adding that Romania would serve as a bridge linking Vietnam and the EU after the country joins the union.

Both host and guest expressed pleasure at a protocol on defence cooperation recently signed between the two governments./.
