VN Summer Camp 2011 arrives in Nghe An

The Overseas Vietnamese (OV) youths from 30 countries and territories worldwide participating in the Vietnam Summer Camp 2011 arrived in the central province of Nghe An on July 14.
The Overseas Vietnamese (OV) youths from 30 countries and territories worldwide participating in the Vietnam Summer Camp 2011 arrived in the central province of Nghe An on July 14.

The delegation, including the most outstanding individuals in study and youth union activities, offered incense and flowers at Ho Chi Minh Square and the tombs of 12 heroines in Do Luong district, visited Kim Lien relics which was the home village of President Ho Chi Minh in Nam Dan district and went swimming at Cua Lo beach.

Organised by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the event, themed “Following in the footsteps of Ly Tu Trong” offered participants a chance to learn about the country’s history and cultural traditions while improving their Vietnamese language skills.

Nguyen Thuy Linh from the Ukraine said this is the third time she has returned to Vietnam and the visit to Uncle Ho’s homeland helped her and others understand more about the life, career, moral examples and the deep sentiment of President Ho Chi Minh towards Vietnamese expatriates.

Nguyen Trong Thach from the UK said that after graduation, he would come back to Vietnam to dedicate all of his knowledge to serving the country.

On the evening of July 14, the OV delegation is scheduled to attend an exchange in the central city of Vinh, where they plan to share their study experiences with local students/.
