The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and the Government Office should work out suitable coordination mechanism to effectively carry out the country’s socio-economic development programmes.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the suggestion at a working session with VUSTA in Hanoi on April 15.
Dung affirmed that the government will create favourable conditions for VUSTA to contribute opinions during the process of making legal documents as well as key government policies and projects.
At the session, VUSTA members proposed many solutions to develop the organisation as well as recommendations to draft documents for better gathering scientists’ opinions for the country’s development.
Since beginning operation in 1983, VUSTA has made strong developments with the participation of over 80,000 intellectuals in the scientific and technological circle and 125 member associations across the country.
Especially, its activities of social counsel, review and appraisal have played an increasingly important role in planning the Party’s renewal policies and the country’s socio-economic development projects./.
