Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the investor behind National Highway 1A upgrades to mobilise all resources to complete the work on schedule.
The Deputy PM made the request while attending a ceremony to kick-start the upgrade of a section of the highway in the central province of Quang Nam on January 13.
The Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project has a total investment of nearly 1.5 trillion VND (70.5 million USD), with 228 billion VND (10.7 million USD) from the State budget.
The section is more than 41 kilometres long and has four lanes for cars and trucks, and two for other vehicles.
It is expected to be completed within two years, reducing congestion on National Highway 1A that links Da Nang city and Quang Ngai province.-VNA
