The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has conferred a certificate of merit to the World Vovinam Federation (WVVF) in recognition of its contributions to strengthening cultural diplomacy through promoting Vietnamese martial arts abroad.
Vietnamese Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung presented the award to the WVVF on the occasion of the third World Vovinam Championship in Paris , which took place from July 5-7.
This is the first time the championship has been held outside Vietnam and it attracted martial artists from more than 20 countries.
Vietnamese martial artists won 13 gold medals at the event.
The next championship will be held in Algeria in 2015.-VNA
