For all the contestants, beyond the medals and the opportunity to compete on the world stage, the MOS Championship has been a valuable experience.

Hanoi (VNA) - Six outstanding Vietnamese contestants have been named national champions of the 2025 MOS World Championship – Viettel and will represent Vietnam at the global finals in the US from July 27–30.

This year’s national champions include: Do Hai Long, student at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (Hanoi), champion in MOS Word 365 Apps; Luong Son Tung, Foreign Trade University (Hanoi), champion in MOS Excel 365 Apps; Nguyen Thai Son, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh), champion in MOS PowerPoint 365 Apps; Vuong Thu Huong, Vietnam Maritime University (Hai Phong), champion in MOS Word 2019; Nghiem Thi My Linh, also from Vietnam Maritime University, champion in MOS Excel 2019; and Nguyen Minh Duc, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, champion in MOS PowerPoint 2019.

Among them, Nguyen Thai Son is the youngest and the only high school student to win a national first prize this year. Son expressed joy and pride in his achievement, saying it reflects his tireless dedication and perseverance.

Having placed third last year due to a minor slip in his performance, he returned with greater determination to claim the top spot this year.

Similarly, Do Hai Long has shown remarkable persistence, competing in the MOS Championship since grade 11. After winning third prize in Word 2016 and being eliminated in the preliminaries as an independent candidate in PowerPoint in 2023, Long finally triumphed on his third attempt. Without formal training in Office applications, Long taught himself through curiosity and practice, applying the tools in real-life situations. Winning this year’s national title is, for him, both a personal milestone and a testament to four years of steadfast effort.

For Vuong Thu Huong, this year’s title comes after three attempts. She made an impressive debut with second prize in 2023 but was disappointed with the consolation prize in 2024. With renewed resolve, she and her teammates are now intensively preparing for the world finals. Huong shared her ambition of winning a gold medal to bring pride to Vietnam and said she is working hard to make that dream a reality.

Meanwhile, Luong Son Tung and Nguyen Minh Duc noted that the team is rigorously training with support from the IIG Education Organisation, the competition’s official host in Vietnam. Beyond group sessions, the ambassadors are practicing with past exams and simulating test conditions to sharpen both their technical skills and test-taking mindset.

Duc said he hopes to bring home a medal from the global competition to inspire not only his peers at Hanoi University of Science and Technology but also young people across Vietnam.

For all the contestants, beyond the medals and the opportunity to compete on the world stage, the MOS Championship has been a valuable experience. It has allowed them to strengthen practical digital skills and explore real-world applications of Microsoft Office. This year’s inclusion of artificial intelligence in the competition has further sparked interest in emerging technologies, motivating students to pursue deeper knowledge and apply these tools effectively in study, work, and life./.
