In June 1997, Vung Ro Wharf in Hoa Xuan Nam commune, Dong Hoa district, south-central Phu Yen province, one of the important wharves in the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea, was recoginised as a national historical relic site. It is remembered in history as a secret port where innumerable ships from the north anchored to deliver food and weapons to the frontlines in south-central and central highland provinces during the war from 1955-1975.
