Vietnam and Cambodia should continue to enhance solidarity, cooperation and mutual support, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world, agreed Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Cambodian counterpart Men Som On during their meeting in Hanoi on September 1.
Deputy PM Phuc welcomed the Cambodian delegation’s visit to attend the 70 th anniversary of Vietnam ’s August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), saying it reflects the traditional friendship and solidarity of the two countries.
He also congratulated Cambodia on its significant achievements in all fields, particularly its improved role in regional and international arenas.
He thanked Cambodia for its valuable support for the Vietnamese people during their past struggle for independence as well as in the current national development.
The current regional and international contexts require both nations to further strengthen collaboration and solidarity in order to meet their people’s legitimate aspirations, Phuc said.
The Vietnamese official expressed wish that the two countries will soon complete their land border demarcation and market planting based on the signed bilateral agreements and in the spirit of clearness, transparency and friendly neighbourliness.
He proposed the Cambodian Government create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in the country.
For her part, the Cambodian Deputy PM lauded Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements over the past 70 years and expressed her deep gratitude for the great support of the Vietnamese Party, State and people for his country both in the past and at present.-VNA
