Vietnam helps Congo produce malaria medicine

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is cooperating with Congo ’s Ministry of Science and Technology in producing Artemisinin medicine for malaria under a contract worth 1 million USD signed between the two sides.
The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is cooperating with Congo ’s Ministry of Science and Technology in producing Artemisinin medicine for malaria under a contract worth 1 million USD signed between the two sides.

Under the contract, the academy will support the Congo side in growing; harvesting and preserving the yellow-flower artemesia plant, and in Artemisinin extract techniques from the plant.

The academy will also help its partner to build a laboratory and a medicine production line with a capacity of 3 million doses per year along with providing it with production technology and staff training.

As scheduled, the medicine production plant in Congo will be inaugurated in August 2012./.
