Hanoi (VNA) – Lawmakers sit for the 13th working day of the 14th National Assembly’s eighth session on November 6 in Hanoi.
This was the first day of the three-day question and answer (Q&A) sessions, and broadcast live on the Vietnam Television, Radio The Voice of Vietnam and the NA’s television.
The November 6 Q&A sessions will focus on the four fields of agriculture and rural development, industry and trade, internal affairs, and information and communications.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong and Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan, and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung will take turns to field questions during the sessions.
In the part for Minister Cuong on November 6, NA deputies recognised efforts by the agricultural sector, and asked the minister to take feasible and breakthrough measures in this sector.
NA Chairwoman Ngan asked the Government, the minister and other relevant authorities and sectors to pay heed to opinions of lawmakers.
Immediate and long-term measures should be taken to continuously implement the National Target Programme on New-style Rural Area Building in 2021-2015, and promote agriculture restructuring, she stressed.
Ngan asked for more efforts to soon remove the European Commission (EC)’s ‘yellow card’ warning to Vietnam’s fisheries sector, accelerate the installation of cruise monitoring equipment on offshore fishing boats, and improve the quality of fishing ports and ship anchorage areas.
In the afternoon the same day, Minister of Industry and Trade Anh was questioned on electricity management and distribution; planning for the development of electricity, new energy and renewable energy; trade and export promotion, development of foreign market, e-commerce and digital economy; market management, fight against trade fraud; and application of IT in industry, among others.
On November 7 morning, deputies will continue questioning minister Anh and raised their questions to Minister Tan.
