The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Vietnam’s Ministry of Health will conduct a project to popularise maternal health record books in four provinces over three years starting in January, 2011.

The 1.8 million USD project, which was signed on Dec. 27 in Hanoi, targets the northern provinces Dien Bien and Hoa Binh, the central province of Thanh Hoa and the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.

The health record book, compiled based on Japan’s experience, will include sections to keep track of a mother’ health during pregnancy, in and after childbirth and as well as the growth of the babies from birth until the age of six./.
