18,000 synthetic drug pills seized in Son La

Two Lao nationals carrying 18,000 synthetic drug pills and two heroin bricks were arrested in the northern mountainous province of Son La on April 2.

Son La (VNA) – Two Lao nationalscarrying 18,000 synthetic drug pills and two heroin bricks were arrested in thenorthern mountainous province of Son La on April 2.

The arrest was carried out by theprovincial border guard’s department for drug and crime prevention incollaboration with the Chieng Tuong border guard station in local Yen Chaudistrict and Yen Chau police.

During the capture, a Yen Chau policeofficer was injured. He is under treatment at Moc Chau hospital.

The two traffickers, born in 1986 and 1969,reside in Xam Neua, Laos’ Houaphan province. They admitted they were hired by aVietnamese to transport the drugs from Laos to Vietnam.

The case is under investigation.-VNA
