from January 25 to February 7.
The event, which is in preparation for the 2013 APEC Summit expected to take place in October, attracted the participation of senior economic officials from 21 APEC member economies.
Addressing the meeting, Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Suswono attached great importance to the APEC SOM.
The theme of the 2013 APEC Summit is “Resilient Asia Pacific, the Engine of Global Growth”, and will focus on Asia - Pacific’s economic recovery and the global economic movement towards the region, said Suswono.
To meet APEC’s Bogor Goals, APEC will need to focus its attention on liberalising trade and investment, business facilitation, and technological and economic cooperation, added the minister.
