Around 500 competitors from clubs nationwide will compete for the RoK Ambassador’s Taekwondo cup in Hanoi from December 16-22.

Contestants will compete in 32 combat categories and 13 demonstration categories classified by age. The event is considered a step for Vietnamese Taekwondo athletes to prepare for impending international events including Asian Games 18, SEA Games 2013 and Asiad 2014.

Team Kukkiwwon and the Korean Keimyung University team will perform in the opening and closing ceremonies respectively, said Park Nark Jong, Standing Director of the Korean Culture Centre in Vietnam.
