7th Congress of Central Public Security Party Organisation on horizon

The seventh Congress of the Central Public Security Party Organisation for the 2020-2025 period will take place from October 11 to 13 in Hanoi, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

Hanoi (VNA) - The seventh Congress of the Central Public Security Party Organisationfor the 2020-2025 period will take place from October 11 to 13 in Hanoi, accordingto the Ministry of Public Security.

The Congress will bring together 350 delegates,including 324 elected in Party units, heard a press conference on October 8.

Major GeneralNguyen Ngoc Toan, Director of the ministry’s Department of Party and PoliticalWork, said the Congress has been prepared thoroughly, with set programmes andplans basically completed. 

The Central PublicSecurity Party Committee issued 18 documents on all-level Party congresses inthe sector, he said, and stepped up communications work for the seventhCongress.

The committee haspaid due regard to preparations of documents and personnel, Toan stressed.

Major tasks setfor the new term include building the Party and the public security force, enhancingcomprehensive leadership capacity, and completing the tasks of nationaldefence, fighting crime, and ensuring social order and safety, among others.

Party GeneralSecretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a working session onSeptember 21 between the Politburo and the standing board of the Central PublicSecurity Party Committee to collect feedback on draft documents and personnelwork for submission to the seventh Congress.

The Party leader expresseda hope that the Congress would be a success, thus opening up a new period ofdevelopment./.

NA Standing Committee's key work agenda for 2026 approved

A major focus will be preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th NA and to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. The NASC will coordinate with the National Election Council, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and relevant agencies and organisations to continue implementing the election plan, organise oversight of the electoral process, and carry out its duties and powers as prescribed.
