Hanoi (VNA) – The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.
- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Adylbek Kasymaliev after hosting an official welcome ceremony for the latter in Hanoi on March 6 morning.

At the talks, on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, PM Chinh warmly welcomed PM Kasymaliev and the delegation of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on their first official visit to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. Read full story
- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed ministries, agencies, and localities to finalise the allocation of the 2025 state investment plan by March 15, warning that unallocated funds will be withdrawn and reassigned to high-priority projects.
Chairing the Government’s February meeting, PM Chinh stressed the importance of expediting fund distribution to accelerate projects' progress, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son said at a press conference on March 5. Read full story
- The retail prices of petrol were revised down on March 6 following the latest adjustment by the Ministries of Industry and Trade, and Finance.
Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 bio-fuel was priced at 19,961 VND (0.78 USD) per litre, down 697 VND from the previous baseline, while that of RON95-III decreased to 20,402 VND per litre, down 710 VND. Read full story
- Vietnam performs over 1,000 organ transplants annually, the highest rate in Southeast Asia, however, the country’s organ donation rate from brain-dead donors remains among the lowest in the world.

Thousands of patients are still waiting for transplants, with many unable to receive one due to a lack of donated organs. Read full story
- The 10th International Exhibition on Shipbuilding and Offshore Technology (Vietship 2025) kicked off at the National Conference Centre in Hanoi on March 5.
The three-day event brought together 103 enterprises both at home and from abroad, with more than 200 booths. Read full story
- Vietnam made a strong impression at ITB Berlin 2025, the world’s leading travel trade show, promoting its diverse tourism offerings and rich cultural heritage.
Held from March 4 to 6 at the Messe Berlin Exhibition Grounds, the event attracted a record 5,800 exhibitors from 170 countries and territories, marking a 5% increase from the previous year. Read full story
- The Ministry of Education and Training held a workshop on March 5 to collect feedback on the draft national scheme designed to gradually introduce English as a second language in schools nationwide.
The scheme, spanning from 2025 to 2035 with a vision extending to 2045, is being piloted in selected universities and schools. Read full story
- The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance is preparing a proposal to pilot a digital currency exchange, Deputy Finance Minister Nguyen Duc Chi announced at the government’s regular press conference on March 5.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the complexity and novelty of digital assets and cryptocurrencies, noting that many countries are still developing legal frameworks to manage them transparently and support economic growth. Read full story
- The Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Indonesia, held a briefing on March 5 unveiling the signing of the UN Convention against Cybercrime scheduled for July in Hanoi.
In his address, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong described the convention as a historic milestone in crime prevention and criminal justice and the first global treaty tackling the multifaceted challenges of online crime. - Representatives from authorities highlighted new policies to support investors and incentives for homebuyers in the coming time, in reply to questions on social housing development for low-income groups at the regular Government press conference in Hanoi on March 5.
