Agribank launches over 3,600 mobile transactions in remote areas

The Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) conducted over 3,600 mobile transactions using single-purpose cars as of the late February 2019, serving more than 376,000 customers in 389 communes nationwide.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank)conducted over 3,600 mobile transactions using single-purpose cars as of thelate February 2019, serving more than 376,000 customers in 389 communesnationwide.

Accordingly,Agribank disbursed upwards 1.4 trillion VND (60.8 million USD), collected over1.4 trillion VND in both debt principles and interests, and raised 471 billionVND in saving deposits.

Luong TienQuynh, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Moc Chau district, the northernmountainous province of Son La said the launch of mobile banking transactionpoints in remote and mountainous areas has contributed to improving localeconomic growth, agricultural production and lives.

The modelwas launched for the first time in 2017. After effective pilot, it has beenavailable in 62 cities and provinces nationwide since January 2018 with a totalof 68 trips. -VNA
