An air crash occurred in Indonesia ’s eastern province of West Papua on May 7 killing all 21 passengers and 6 crew on board.

According to Bambang Ervan, spokesman from Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, the MA-60 aircraft of the country’s Merpati Nusantara airline crashed in Kaimana bay, only 500 metres from the Kaimana airport’s runway.

According to the initial information, the bad weather that limited visibility of the pilot was likely the cause of the accident.

The airport’s rescue team found 15 dead bodies at sea, while other victims were still stuck in side the plane./.
