Airlines to increase flights departing from Da Nang: CAAV

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) will soon grant permission to airlines to maximise number of flights leaving the central city of Da Nang amid new developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, head of the CAAV Dinh Viet Thang has said.

 Hanoi (VNA) –The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) will soon grant permission toairlines to maximise number of flights leaving the central city of Da Nang amidnew developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, head of the CAAV Dinh Viet Thang hassaid.

As one of the mostfavoured tourist attractions of the country, Da Nang has been receiving a largenumber of tourists after Vietnam lifted social distancing measures and bolstereddomestic air travel.

Given that the cityconfirmed new infections in the community, the National Steering Committee forCOVID-19 Prevention and Control has proposed restricting vehicles of publictransport from/to Da Nang and only allowing two flights per day from domesticairports.

Once approved by thePrime Minister, the proposal will take effect at the stroke of July 27, Thangsaid.

The Da Nang InternationalAirport is temporarily closed to international flights that carry foreign expertsand Vietnamese citizens in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Vietnam’s newestcarrier Bamboo Airways said it will increase number of flights departing fromDa Nang on July 26-27 to meet passengers’ demand.

It also planned to addfour flights linking Da Nang with Hanoi and HCM City on July 26. Passengers areadvised to update latest information on the airline’s website and officialfanpage./.

Tien Giang steps up efforts to eliminate substandard houses

According to the Tien Giang People’s Committee, 485 homes for policy beneficiaries, families of war martyrs, and low-income households will be supported. Of these, 284 new homes will be built, and 201 existing ones repaired, with a total budget of 24.1 billion VND (about 984,000 USD). As of March 6, construction had started on 166 houses, with 32 already completed.

Bac Giang to eliminate substandard houses by November

Local authorities have identified 795 homes of poor and near-poor households and individuals with recognised service to the nation that qualify for support. Of these, 475 require complete reconstruction and 320 need significant repairs, with estimated costs totaling 39 billion VND (1.53 million USD).
