Ambassador visits China’s Tianjin city to boost ties

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi paid a working trip to Tianjin city, the leading industrial and trade centre in the north of China, from February 21-22 to boost its bilateral cooperation with Vietnamese localities.

Tianjin (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to ChinaDang Minh Khoi paid a working trip to Tianjin city, the leading industrial and tradecentre in the north of China, from February 21-22 to boost its bilateralcooperation with Vietnamese localities.

Meeting Politburo member and Secretary of the Tianjinmunicipal Party Committee Li Hongzhong, Khoi said both countries havefacilitated regular visits by their leaders and cooperation in diverse areas,especially in economy, trade, and people-to-people exchange.

He lauded Tianjin and Vietnamese localities for fosteringlong-standing friendship, contributing to enriching the Vietnam-China comprehensivestrategic cooperative partnership.

Khoi suggested that Tianjin and Vietnamese localities shouldfurther boost all-round collaboration, particularly in economy, trade,investment, tourism, maritime transportation, science-technology, andeducation.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in China will striveto uphold its role as a bridge, stepping up bilateral ties.

Li, for his part, stressed that as neighbouring countries,Vietnam and China have become increasingly important partners to each other in awide range of areas.

He expressed his delight at growing relations between thetwo parties and countries over the past few years, including ties betweenTianjin and Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and localities, given that Tianjinand Hai Phong will mark their 20th anniversary of friendly cities this year.

The host affirmed that as the largest port city in thenorth, Tianjin wants to tap its strengths and make further positivecontributions to China and Vietnam’s friendly neighborliness and comprehensivecooperation.

The Chinese official hailed leaders of the Vietnamese Party,State, ministries, agencies, and localities for paying working trips to Tianjinand expanding practical coordination between both sides.

The municipal statistics showed that trade between Vietnamand Tianjin hit 4.3 billion USD last year, 1.04 billion USD of which was from Vietnam’sexports. Nearly 150 Vietnamese students are also living and studying in thecity.

The Vietnamese delegation took the occasion to visit Tianjinport and residential areas to learn about their experience in social managementand Party building at the grassroots level, as well as stopping by severallocal socio-economic and cultural establishments. –VNA

NA leader hosts Belgian King in Hanoi

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
