The National Assembly's Office, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), and the Hanoi People’s Committee on September 22 held a hand-over ceremony for the area displaying underground archaeological discoveries at the NA House.

Speaking at the ceremony, VASS President Associate Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang said the area has given a facelift to the NA House and affirmed the sound guidelines of the Party and the State in preserving and upholding heritage values of the Thang Long royal citadel.

This will be a highlight in promoting Vietnam’s cultural heritage to foreign leaders, as well as Vietnamese and international tourists in the time head, he said.

NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc said the Office will continue its close coordination with the municipal People’s Committee in the management and preservation work.

About 140 relic sites, along with dozens of thousands of objects belonging to different periods were found during excavations in 2008-2009, demonstrating that the House is located in the southwestern part of the royal citadel./.
