The 10 th ASEAN Business and Investment Summit kicked off in Phnom Penh , Cambodia on November 17, with delegates from 18 member and dialogue countries taking part.

Addressing the event, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen highlightedimportant topics like infrastructure development, ASEAN connectivity,energy sources and creating favourable conditions for small-and-mediumsized enterprises in a bid to turn ASEAN into a trade and investmenthub.

Hun Sen stressed that increased regionalintegration and growth promotion of ASEAN economies will facilitateCambodia ’s exports, but also increase the bloc’s competitiveness toattract regional and international investors.

Thetwo-day event will focus its discussion on establishing a group of18-member East Asia Summit countries, including 10 ASEAN member nations,as well as access to markets outside the region through the ASEAN+1Free Trade Agreement and Comprehensive Economic Partnership.-VNA
