ASEAN foreign ministers launched the ASEAN Communication Master Plan (ACMP) at a meeting on November 11 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar as a move to realise the ASEAN Community in 2015.
ASEAN foreign ministers launched the ASEAN Communication Master Plan(ACMP) at a meeting on November 11 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar as amove to realise the ASEAN Community in 2015.

In its pressrelease, the ASEAN Secretariat revealed that the ACPM aims to provideASEAN stakeholders with a framework to communicate about theopportunities offered by the ASEAN Community within the region andglobally.

The plan, themed “ASEAN: A Community ofOpportunities” will guide ASEAN member states and other stakeholders incommunicating clearly the character, structure, and overall vision ofASEAN and the ASEAN Community to regional and global audiences.

ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh said that the ACMP, developedwith support from the Japanese Government through the Japan-ASEANIntegration Fund (JAIF), is designed to be a living plan that conveysthe message that ASEAN is a Community of Opportunities for all.

Hestressed the importance of ASEAN to be able to speak to its internaland external stakeholders with clear messages, and with one voice, usingtraditional and non-traditional means of communication. -VNA
