Thailand’s tourism sees impressive growth in the high season of early 2025

Although there was a temporary decline in tourist numbers following the Songkran holiday in mid-April, the ministry anticipates a rebound, supported by additional flights from Thai Airways, ongoing tourism and sports promotions, and government initiatives designating 2025 as Thailand's "Year of Tourism and Sports".

Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand's tourism sector experienced significant growth in early 2025, with over 11.27 million international visitors arriving by April 20, generating more than 540.6 billion THB (approximately 16 billion USD) in revenue.

Chinese tourists led the influx with 1.52 million arrivals, followed by visitors from Malaysia, Russia, India, and the Republic of Korea.

Although there was a temporary decline in tourist numbers following the Songkran holiday in mid-April, the ministry anticipates a rebound, supported by additional flights from Thai Airways, ongoing tourism and sports promotions, and government initiatives designating 2025 as Thailand's "Year of Tourism and Sports".
