More than 120 officials from the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) membernations have discussed preparations for the ninth Asia-EuropeMeeting (ASEM 9) in Vientiane, Laos from Sept. 11-14.
They deliberated a draft Vientiane Declaration on StrengtheningPartnership for Peace and Development, ASEM 9 Chair’s Statement,Provisional Agenda and cooperative orientations for ASEM in the future.
At the meeting, the Lao side affirmed itsdetermination to well prepare for the Meeting in November, to which itwill host for the first time.
As many as 35countries and international organisations have accepted to attend theevent, where Asian and European leaders will discuss regional andinternational issues to further develop ASEM in the coming time.-VNA
