Hanoi (VNA) - The Asia-Pacific Maritime (APM) exhibition, the 15th of its kind, kicked off in Singapore on March 14.
The biennial exhibition draws over 1,500 exhibitors from 60 countries and territories who are showcasing the latest technologies in shipbuilding, marine engineering, seaport logistics and services.
They include enterprises from the nations with developed marine industry, namely Japan, the Republic of Korea, France, Germany, and Spain.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Michelle Lim, Managing Director of Reed Exhibitions, said Asia continues to affirm its role as a fast growing and active region in the global economy.
This opens up a stable and long-term development future for the regional marine industry, in which APM-15 will play the key role in promoting new business cooperation opportunities via the activities at the exhibition, she said.
She also underlined the thorough impacts of digital technology on the sector, saying that forums and workshops on the sidelines of the APM-15 will provide marine enterprises with relevant information and optimal measures to apply technology in their own production and business activities.
Numerous exchanges will be held in the framework of the exhibition to promote cooperation and investment among stakeholders.
APM-15, which will run until March 16, is expected to welcome 15,000 visitors.-VNA
