Hanoi (VNA) - The Asia-Pacific Maritime(APM) exhibition, the 15th of its kind, kicked off in Singapore onMarch 14.
The biennial exhibition draws over 1,500exhibitors from 60 countries and territories who are showcasing the latesttechnologies in shipbuilding, marine engineering, seaport logistics andservices.
They include enterprises from the nations withdeveloped marine industry, namely Japan, the Republic of Korea, France,Germany, and Spain.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Michelle Lim, ManagingDirector of Reed Exhibitions, said Asia continues to affirm its role as afast growing and active region in the global economy.
This opens up a stable and long-term developmentfuture for the regional marine industry, in which APM-15 will play the key rolein promoting new business cooperation opportunities via the activities at theexhibition, she said.
She also underlined the thorough impacts ofdigital technology on the sector, saying that forums and workshops on thesidelines of the APM-15 will provide marine enterprises with relevantinformation and optimal measures to apply technology in their own productionand business activities.
Numerous exchanges will be held in the frameworkof the exhibition to promote cooperation and investment among stakeholders.
APM-15, which will run until March 16, isexpected to welcome 15,000 visitors.-VNA
