Australia presents gifts to the disabled

The Vietnam Red Cross office in the northern province of Nam Dinh and the Rotary Club of Mosman (RCM) in Sydney , Australia on May 16 presented 40 wheelchairs to Agent Orange (AO) victims and people with disabilities in 10 districts in the province.

This is an annual activity of RCM, and part of a project named “Wheelchairs for disabled people” in Vietnam .

Since 2007, the Australian Embassy in Vietnam in cooperation withRCM has donated 110 wheelchairs to AO victims and disabled people in NamDinh province, who meet with many difficulties in their lives.

Rotary International is a worldwide charitable organisation thatpioneers humanitarian and development projects, such as projects tosupply clean water to poor people in remote areas and support inbuilding schools, houses and centres to care for disabled children.-VNA

Binh Duong to rebuild substandard houses by September 2

Vietnamese workers to enjoy five-day Reunification and Labour Day holiday

The Government is recommending public employers arrange their working schedules to swap out working on Saturday, April 26, for the day off on May 2.In early April, workers in Vietnam will also enjoy a day off for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the third lunar month), which falls on April 7 (Monday).
