New Delhi (VNA) –The Autumn Fair 2025, the first large-scale trade event directed by the Vietnamese government, has been viewed as an important step in deepening economic ties between Vietnam and India.
According to Bui Trung Thuong, Trade Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in India, despite a short preparation period, the fair made a strong impression with its large scale and diverse range of exhibitors and products. The Indian business delegation was the largest and most active throughout the event, demonstrating their keen interest in the Vietnamese market. Many Indian companies praised the professionalism of Vietnamese enterprises and offered suggestions to further enhance the organisation of future fairs.
Indian businesses expressed particular interest in Vietnam’s handicrafts, creative products, and healthcare goods considered highly promising for entry into the Indian market. Conversely, India’s eco-friendly and nutritional products were also seen as having strong potential in Vietnam, paving the way for two-way trade opportunities.
Thuong noted that India’s growing interest in Vietnam is driven by global trade shifts, US reciprocal tariff policies, proactive engagement by both countries’ trade offices and business communities, and increasing direct flights between the two nations.
The Vietnam Trade Office in India plans to bring Indian business delegations to Vietnam’s four annual trade fairs: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter while intensifying efforts to promote investment and business-to-business (B2B) partnerships. The office will also continue supporting major Indian enterprises looking to expand overseas under the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s “Go Global” initiative, alongside assisting small- and medium-sized firms to access and succeed in the Vietnamese market.
He emphasised that Vietnam’s enterprises should be patient and develop a deep understanding of India’s legal system and consumer culture.
Aakash Kushwah, Senior Manager of the India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), praised the event’s professionalism and vibrant presentation of Vietnamese culture. He highlighted that compared with other international fairs, Vietnam’s event focused more on consumers, allowing businesses to better understand market preferences.
He saw promising prospects for cooperation in Vietnam’s strengths such as bamboo and rattan products, wooden furniture, and interior décor . He also appreciated the production capacity of Vietnamese enterprises and expect concrete cooperation projects soon while citing that IEML and Vietnamese partners remain in contact to discuss new opportunities.
Aakash suggested the fair could grow into a major regional platform for trade and supply chain connections, recommending more B2B sessions, factory tours, broader international outreach, and translation support for foreign participants.
A representative from India’s AVA Cholayil Health Care (Kaytra) also commended Vietnam’s organisation of the event, noting the company had found a suitable partner at the fair and expressed optimism about future cooperation.
Autumn Fair 2025 not only underscored Vietnam’s capability to host large-scale international trade events but also created tangible opportunities for strengthening Vietnam–India business cooperation. With proactive trade promotion and mutual commitment, bilateral trade relations are expected to continue expanding sustainably in the years ahead./.
