Aviation security control tightened to serve 13th National Party Congress

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) on January 14 requested aviation security control be raised to Level 1 before, during and after the 13th National Party Congress.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Civil AviationAuthority of Vietnam (CAAV) on January 14 requested aviation security controlbe raised to Level 1 before, during and after the 13th National Party Congress.

Accordingly, aviation security control measureswill be enhanced at all units in the sector, including airport authorities,airports, aviation service providers, air traffic service suppliers, Vietnameseairlines, and foreign carriers operating in Vietnam.

They will have to increase personnel foraviation security control; examine and supplement equipment, weapons, andsupport tools; and thoroughly prepare response plans for any circumstance.

In particular, relevant forces will applyvarious security control measures such as increasing visual inspection, randomcheck, and screening by explosive detection devices so as to opportunelyuncover abnormal acts and prevent unexpected incidents, thus ensuring absoluteaviation security and safety for the 13th National Party Congress.

The 13th National Party Congress is scheduled totake place in Hanoi from January 25 to February 2.

Under current regulations, when there are highrisks to aviation security, security control measures will be tightenedaccording to three levels.

Level 1 is applied in case of nationallyimportant socio-political events or complicated situation of political securityand social order./.
