Ba Ria-Vung Tau receives eight foreigners in distress at sea

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – The Border Guard High Command of southern BaRia-Vung Tau province said on August 30 that it had received eight Myanmarnationals who had been saved by a Panama-flagged ship at sea.
The ship TRUMP SW was en route to Indonesia fromChina when sailors detected an orange-colour object with eight people on board adrift at sea on August 26.
The ship’s crew members rescued all the eight victims and gave them health checks and first aid help.
On August 29 evening, the victims were brought to mainland,and provided with accommodations./.
The maritime search and rescue coordination centre in region 4 on March 16 rescued and brought ashore a fisherman, who was seriously injured while fishing in the territorial waters around Spratly (Truong Sa) archipelago.
The fisheries resources surveillance and naval forces of Vietnam are working to rescue Panama-flagged Vessel Pacific 07 which encountered a breakdown while passing the waters of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, according to the Naval Region 4 Command.
Three fishermen and their vessel in distress at sea due to bad weather were saved and brought to central Da Nang city on late April 7 by a ship of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC).
Naval Squadron 129 has said it took rescue measures on August 18 after receiving an SOS from a fishing boat coded BD 98172 TS of the south central province of Binh Dinh which was in distress in the area of Da Tay island in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.
