Bac Lieu (VNA) – In a collaborative effort between the Forest Protection Department of the southern province of Bac Lieu and Phat Quang Pagoda, nine wild animals were released back into their natural habitat at U Minh Ha National Park in the southernmost province of Ca Mau on June 11.
The animals, which included six wildcats and three toothed turtles, were handed over by local residents following a call to action by Phat Quang Pagoda in Bac Lieu. The pagoda later worked with the Forest Protection Department to ensure their safe return to the wild, said its Abbot Venerable Thien Phuc.
U Minh Ha National Park, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, is home to a variety of wildlife, including many endangered species. The release of these animals marks a significant step toward preserving the park's biodiversity./.
