Nam Dinh (VNA) – Police have busted a big drug trafficking ring and seized 15 heroin bricks (one brick being equivalent to about 350 grams), police in Nam Dinh province said on June 23.

Police arrested Phan Van Su, 42, from Giao Thuy district of the northern province of Nam Dinh and Sung Di Lenh, 20, from the northern central coast province of Thanh Hoa.

Su confessed that he was originally a carpenter and usually went to border provinces to trade timber. During that process, he colluded with some drug traffickers of ethnic minority groups in the Vietnam – Laos border areas to bring drugs into northern provinces, including Hanoi, Thai Nguyen and Nam Dinh provinces.

Lenh was a drug supplier for Su.

Disguised as a timber trader, Su delivered drug to buyers by car. While trafficking 15 bricks of heroin from Thanh Hoa to Nam Dinh, Su and Lenh were captured.
