An Exhibition on Electronics, Communications and Information Technologies and Vietnam IT Week 2009 (eCIT Vietnam-IT Week 2009) will be held in Hanoi from December 10-14.

The event, the first of its kind in Vietnam, is co-organised by the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA) and the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP).

At more than 200 booths, domestic and foreign IT enterprises will showcase electronic, sound and light products, IT and telecom technologies and IT applications used in socio-economic industries.

Addressing a press conference on October 23, VEIA General Secretary Tran Quang Hung said the event not only helps enterprises introduce their products and brand names, expand market and raise their competitive capacities but also creates favourable conditions for them to exchange experience and seek investment partners.

On this occasion, the expo’s organising board will present the Vietnam IT and Communications Golden Cup 2009 award for enterprises and establishments that have the most effective IT application products and solutions, the best-selling software and the best e-commerce products.

VEIA’s figure said Vietnam’s electronics, IT and Telecom industries have made outstanding achievements in recent years. Despite the impact of the global economic crisis, these industries’ export turnover has significantly recovered, earning 1.65 billion USD in the first eight months of this year and the number is expected to be three billion USD for the whole year, a year-on-year increase of 2.6 billion USD./.
