Binh Duong strives to complete new-style rural area building by 2020

The southern province of Binh Duong has set to have all 49 communes meeting 19 criteria on new-style rural area building during the 2016-2020 period, according to Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Tan Binh.

In 2015, thelocality aims to mobilise about 1.994 trillion VND (93.7 million USD) toimplement the new-style rural area building programme and have 19 morecommunes satisfied the all 19 criteria.

In 2014, more than 2trillion VND (94 million USD), of which 927 billion VND came from localpeople and businesses, was invested in building new style rural areas,thus improving infrastructure facilities and lowering the poor householdrate to 1.52 percent.

As many as 11 communes in the province became new-style rural areas, while the rest met at least nine criteria.-VNA
