Hanoi (VNA) - Binh Thuan won the 2016 Kedah International Dragon Boat festival which wrapped up in Tangjung Chali, Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia over the weekend.

They beat two teams from Brunei and the Philippines in the final round to triumph at the event.

Earlier, the 18-member team defeated Brunei and Thailand in the qualifying round. They also crushed India and China in the semi-final round for a chance to compete in the final round.

The festival brought together seven teams from Brunei, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand, India, and Vietnam with two teams from the host country – Malaysia. All nine teams drew lots for three qualifying rounds.-VNA
