Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The Hanoi Book Festival will take place on October 3-7, highlighting modern reading culture.
The festival will gather 200 booths from various publishing houses and book companies where books are for sale at a discount. The domestic and international businesses will also organise seminars and presentations.
Through the seminars, panelists and audience members will discuss copyright protection in the development of technology, reading culture, connections between readers and publishing houses and co-operation between domestic and foreign book firms.
On the occasion, exchanges between authors and readers will take place.
An exhibition space will showcase digital reading devices, audio books, and techniques combining print books and applications on smart devices.
This technique is becoming popular among readers because it creates special effects on the pages. For example, a normal print book can contain 3D and animated images if it is scanned with an app.
Other activities will be organised such as card games and portrait painting.
Hosted by the city People’s Committee, the annual book festival will take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, 19C Hoang Dieu Street, Hanoi. Entrance is free.-VNS/VNA
