Book on Vietnam’s sea, island sovereignty released in Japan

A book on Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelagoes has been translated into Japanese by Professor Kazutaka Hashimoto from the Kanto Gakuin University and released in the country.

Tokyo (VNA) - A book on Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and TruongSa (Spratly) Archipelagoes has been translated into Japanese by Professor KazutakaHashimoto from the Kanto Gakuin University andreleased in the country.

“Hoang Sa - Truong Sa: Luan cu va Su kien” (HoangSa - Truong Sa: Evidence and Events) by Dinh Kim Phuc was published by the ThoiDai (Times) Publishing House in 2012.

The 263-page book provides historical evidence andinternational legal grounds affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagoesand opposing illegal sovereignty claims.

With four parts, the book features East Sea disputesand appropriate solutions. Its appendix includes interviews with domestic and foreignscholars.

The Japanese version is being distributed by manypublishing houses in Japan and will be used as a reference document by Japaneseresearch institutes, universities, and experts, helping to spread the message ofVietnam’s maritime sovereignty to the international community and Japan in particular./.

Korean reporter remembers days before April 30,1975 victory

Ahn Byung Chan, a former reporter for the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Hankook Ilbo newspaper was the last Korean journalist to leave Sai Gon (now Ho Chi Minh City) on the early morning of April 30, 1975 on the flight that he believed the last one from the US Embassy's building rooftop on April 30.
