Publications of two Italian books in the Vietnamese language helped Italian and Vietnamese people to get closer to each other and gain a complete image of Italy, through much information and many lifestyles, said Italian Ambassador Andrea Perugini.

The Italian Ambassador made the remark at a ceremony to present the newly published books in Hanoi on Nov. 12.

“Italy Guidebook” published by the The Gioi publishing house and “Head of the Italians”, by the Nha Nam publishing house were practical evidence of the agreement of cooperation in tourism, which was signed during State President Nguyen Minh Triet’s visit to Italy in December 2009.

The “Italy Guidebook’ not only aims to show to the Vietnamese public the travel destinations that have made Italy one of the most visited countries in the world, but it also recommends special itineraries linked to fashion and shopping, sport, food and wines, in order to give Vietnamese people a better insight into the lifestyle of Italians and products labelled “Made in Italy”.

“Head of the Italians” introduces Vietnamese people to the Italian country and its homes, squares, shops, churches, stadiums and beaches. Ten days and thirty places give an overview of the culture and values of the Italian people.

The Ambassador said that in order to promote the image of the Vietnamese people and land in Italy, the Italian Embassy in Vietnam issued the book “Vietnam, the third millennium” in the Italian language in Rome in October.

With great contributions to boosting friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Italy during his term of office, Ambassador Andrea Perugini was presented with Vietnam ’s Friendship Order on Nov. 10./.
