Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has urged parties involved to continue negotiations on the East Sea dispute settlement.

All parties concerned in the dispute should fully implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) toward the completion of a Code of Conduct (COC), Hun Sen said at an inauguration ceremony for a bridge in Kandal province in Cambodia on August 3.

His remarks were made on the threshold of the 48th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM 48) and related meetings taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this week, with the East Sea issue expected to be the focus of the agenda.

The AMM 48 officially opened on August 4. It will be followed by several related meetings including the 16 th ASEAN plus three Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, the 5th East Asian Summit Foreign Ministers Meeting and the 22nd ASEAN Regional Forum-VNA
