Cambodia extend foreigners’ stay at Angkor park

The Cambodian government has decided to extend foreigners’ stay at Angkor Archeological Park in the northern province of Siem Reap, about 300km from the capital city of Phnom Penh.

Hanoi (VNA) – TheCambodian government has decided to extend foreigners’ stay at AngkorArcheological Park in the northern province of Siem Reap, about 300km from thecapital city of Phnom Penh.

In a letter sent to a leaderof Angkor Enterprise on February 25, the Cambodian Ministry of Economy andFinance said the one-day ticket priced at 37 USD each will be extended to twodays, the 62 USD three-day tickets will be valid for five days, and the 72 USDseven-day tickets used for 10 days.

The new decision will takeeffect within four months, starting from February 25.

Touristarrivals at the world-famous Angkor Archaeological Park saw a 15 percentdecrease last year, but the government said it has mapped out a plan to addressthe problem.

Angkor Enterprise, a public administration under the technicalsupervision of the Ministry of Tourism and under the financial supervision ofthe Ministry of Economy and Finance, sold entrance passes to 2.2 millionforeign tourists, earning 99 million USD in 2019, down 2.5 million in arrivalsand 116 million USD in value from 2018./.
