Cambodia: Seven parties register for election
The Cambodian National Election Committee (NEC) on May 13 revealed that a
total of seven parties have registered to run in the general election
for seats in the fifth Cambodian National Assembly, scheduled for July
18.

The parties include the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), the FUNCINPEC Party, the Khmer National Party, the Khmer Republican Party (KRP), the League for Democracy Party, the Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) and the Anti-poverty Party.
The number of parties running for election is the lowest recorded since the first National Assembly in 1993. Cambodia has 42 political parties.-VNA
