Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has vowed to maintain peace along theborder with Thailand regardless of the upcoming verdict of theInternational Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning the disputed area aroundPreah Vihear Temple.
The governments of Cambodia and Thailandare still committed to ensuring friendship and cooperation between thearmies and people of both countries, whoever the ICJ decides to rule infavour of on November 11, the PM told armed forces along the border via avideo conference at the weekly Cabinet meeting on October 25.
Cambodia will continue to maintain safety, security and peace along the Cambodia-Thailand border at any cost, he added.
CambodianDeputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong will meet withhis Thai counterpart Surapong Tovichakchaikul next week in Poipet city,Cambodia, to discuss maintaining peace, security and stability along theborder of the two countries, according to a statement from theCambodian Foreign Ministry.
