Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Women’s Union, the Institute for Development& Community Health (LIGHT), and the UN Women in Vietnam jointly organised anvirtual programme to celebrate the International Women’s Day (March 8) andlaunch the campaign “For Women’s Smiles” in Hanoi, central Thua Thien-Hueprovince, and Ho Chi Minh City on March 6.
The campaign “For Women’s Smiles” aims to honour unyieldingefforts of Vietnamese women to overcome difficulties and challenges, especiallyamidst the COVID-19 pandemic, to contribute to the nation's development andprosperity.
With the companionship of scientists, artists and socialactivists, it hopes to encourage the aspirations to rise up, the will to overcomedifficulties, the desire to learn and the creativity of women.
The campaign also creates a space for women to expand theuse of information technology, exchange information towards women's happiness and promote gender equality./.
A national forum on “Engaging Men and Boys in the Promotion of Gender Equality and the Elimination of Gender-based Violence” was held for the first time in Hanoi with 200 delegates participating both online and in person.
