Representatives from Germany’s Hessen State presented scholarships to students studying at universities and colleges in the central region at a ceremony held in Da Nang city on June 7.
The activity is part of an educational cooperation programme between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Hessen Sate Ministry for Science and Art (HSMSA), which aims to encourage disadvantaged students and those from ethnic minority groups to successful accomplish their studies.
The 37 beneficiaries selected have all achieved remarkable academic results during the 2013-2014 academic year. They received scholarships worth 210 EUR each from HSMSA.
According to Chief Representative of the Hessen State Office in Hanoi, Bui Cong Tho, the programme has been organised continuously throughout the last 20 years.
In May this year, 13 ethnic minority students in the north mountainous province of Dien Bien also received similar scholarships.-VNA
