Hanoi (VNA) – Chief Justice Nguyen Hoa Binh of the Supreme People’s Court held talks in Hanoi with his Cuban counterpart Rubén Remigio Ferro in Hanoi on August 26, during which the two sides discussed cooperation between the two countries’ court systems.
Ferro is on a working visit to Vietnam on August 25 – 29.
Binh express his delight at Cuba’s political and socio-economic development in recent years and briefed his guest on Vietnam’s achievements in judicial reforms, saying the reforms have helped heighten the position of the Vietnamese court system.
The Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam has actively adopted a number of breakthrough solutions with judges’ competency much improved, the Vietnamese chief justice said.
Thanking Binh for a warm welcome, Ferro said Cuban people always treasure support from Vietnamese people for their national construction and development.
The Cuban chief judge expected to see an increase in the exchange and experience sharing with Vietnam to enhance the capacity of the Cuban judicial system.
The two sides agreed the talks strengthened the two nations’ judicial cooperation, contributing to deepening the long-standing friendship and partnership. –VNA
