China and Belarus inked 19 agreements on bilateral economic and trade cooperation during Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping’s visit to the country.

The signing took place following talks between the Chinese Vice President and Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky on March 25.

According to PM Sidorsky, the signed agreements will boost bilateral cooperation in telecommunications, transportation, energy and infrastructure.

For his part, the Chinese Vice President stated that the most favourable opportunities are open for China-Belarus ties and a bright future is waiting for the two countries.

Xi affirmed that China is ready to assist the launch of projects of high potential for implementation as quickly as it can.

Earlier in his meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on March 24, Xi announced that Beijing will provide Minsk with 1 billion USD in soft loan to undertake cooperative projects already agreed.
