Chinese private businesses are interested in building rubber processing and waste management plants in Thailand.
Theyshowed their interest during a meeting with Prime Minister PrayutChan-o-cha met on the sidelines of the 22 nd Asia-Pacific EconomicCooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Beijing , China onNovember 10-11.
Chinese enterprises want to build a rubberprocessing plant in Thailand but they need help from the localgovernment, they said.
The Prime Minister has ordered a committeeto study the feasibility of this investment opportunity. If the rubberprocessing plant can be set up, they will benefit the nation bygenerating more income through the elevation of rubber price.
However, everything must proceed in accordance with the regulations of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), he said.
Regardingthe building of a waste management plant in Thailand , Chinesecompanies are confident that the quality of garbage in the country is ingood condition, which will allow the plant’s incinerator to generate ahigh level of heat. This will also help deal with excess waste inThailand .
The Prime Minister said that this is a goodopportunity for both countries, but everything must be implementedtransparently to prevent any corruption.-VNA
