A Chinese national has been caught trying to traffic two Dao ethnic minority people into China, said Colonel Pham Van Hai, head of the drug crime prevention and control department under the Border Command of northern mountainous Lai Chau province, on June 17.

The victims are Tan Phay Sinh, born in 1988, and her niece Cheo San May, born in 1999. Both live in Chieu Sa Phin village, Lan Nhi Thang commune of Lai Chau’s Phong Tho border district.

Li Jinming , who was born in 1976 and resides in China’s Yunnan province, was detained near landmark No. 64 attempting to take Sinh and May across the border illegally.

Li Jinming confessed that in late May this year he became acquainted with a man living in China’s Chongqing city, who he made a deal with to receive 3,000 Yuan for each trafficked Vietnamese woman he brought into China.
